Made with the Sangiovese variety Prugnolo gentile and small amounts of Canaiolo, Mammolo and Clorino grapes (depending on the year) from the more ripe vineyards of the winery. Aged for at least 2 years in barrique, French oak barrels with a maximum capacity of 1000 litres, and then refined in bottles for a length of time. Deep ruby-red colour with violet highlights, in the wine's youth, and shadings of brick-red towards maturation. Well-balanced, persistent, with good structure that can assure an excellent degree of ageing of at least 12-15 years.
The wine complements savoury main-course dishes based on red meats and game and complements aged cheeses.
